It has a selective type-2 dopamine receptor antagonist Claims have been m ade that it does not cause significant depressive, stimulant, autonom ic o r cardiovascular effects, and produces less extrapyramidal disturbance than other neuroleptics. In this article the use o f sulpiride in schizophrenic patients was reviewed.

Selektif tip-2 dopamin reseptör antagonisti olan sulpiride, benzamide ailesinden orijinal bir bileşimdir. Depresif, stimulan, otonomik ve kardiyovasküler etkilerinin olmadığı, diğer nöroleptiklere kıyasla daha az ekstrapiramidal bozukluğa neden olduğu ileri sürülmektedir.
