Psychotherapy and medical treatment are used succesfully in the treatment of adult social phobic patients. However research in the treatment of childhood social phobia so far is insufficient. To determine the efficacy of fluoxetine in the treatment of childhood social phobia, fluoxetine was adminstered to four patients with the childhood social phobia. Half of the cases had been resistant to other types of therapy (psychoterapy and medication). Their response to fluoxetine adminstration and significant differences in clinical characteristic are discussed.
Çocukluk çağında görülen sosyal fobi olgularında fluoksetin'in etkinliği
Erişkinlerde görülen sosyal fobinin tedavisinde psikoterapötik ve mediksl yöntemlerin etkinliği bilinmektedir. Ancak çocukluk çağında görülen bu klinik tablonun seyri ve tedavi yaklaşımları konusunda çalışmalar yetersizdir. Son senelerde diğer tedavi yöntemlerine dirençli olan sosyal fobiklerin şuoksetine olumlu yanıtı dikkati çekmektedir. Bu noktadan yola çıkarak 10-13 yaş arası sosyal fobi tanısı alan dört çocuğa (2 si psikoterapiye ve biri medikasyona yanıt vermeyen ) şuoksetin verildi. Bu sunumda olguların şuoksetine yanıtı ve davranış paternlerindeki değişiklik tartışılacaktır.
