Pizotifen, a tricyclic compound is a derivative of benzocycloheptathiophene and it is used in the prophylaxis of migraine. In som e studies, it has been claimed that pizotifen hasalso an antidepressant effect and displays rather atetracyclic antidepressant profile than a tricyclic one. In this study, weev aluated the antidepressant effect of pizotiten in depressed patients withtension headache and found that pizotifen is as effective as trazodone.
Gerilim başağrılı depressif hastalarda pizotifenin antidepresan etkisi-trazodon ve plasebo kontrollü bir çalışma
Pizotifen benzosikloheptatiofen türevi olan trisiklik bir bileşiktir ve migrenin proşaktik tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Bazı çalışmalarda, pizotifenin antidepresan eskisinin de bulunduğu ve trisikliklerden çok tetrasiklik antidepresan profiline sahip olduğu ileri sürülmüştür. Bu çalışmada gerilim başağnh depressif hastalarda pizotifenin antidepresan etkisin araştırılmış ve trazodon kadar etkili olduğu bulunmuştur.
