Obsessive-compulsive disorder is common debilitating psychiatric disorder. OCD should be treated when symptoms interfere with functioning. Pharmacotherapy mainly serotonin reuptake inhibitors and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy are recommended as safe and effective first-line treatments in OCD: Fluvoxamine is the serotonin reuptake inhibitor with the largest database in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder. Serotonin reuptake inhibitors are the first line treatment in obsessive compulsive disorder.Their efficacy is well known in most of the obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders.Fluvoxamine’s efficacy has shown in the treatment of both obsessive compulsive disorder and obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders in many studies. In this article psychiatric management, assessment and treatment of OCD and the role of fluvoxamine on the treatment of OCD and Obsessive Compulsive spectrum disorders was reviewed.
Obsesif kompulsif bozukluk ve obsesif kompulsif spektrum bozukluklarında tedavi: Fluvoksamin’in yeri
Obsesif kompulsif bozukluk s›k görülen ve kiflide yeti kayb›na yol açan bir hastal›kt›r. OKB belirtileri kiflinin ifllevselli¤ini engelleyecek düzeye geldi¤inde tedavi edilmelidir. Serotonin geri al›m inhibitörleri baflta olmak üzere ilaç tedavisi ve biliflsel davran›flc› tedavi OKB tedavisinde güvenilir ve etkili birinci basamak tedavisi olarak önerilmektedir. Fluvoksamin obsesif kompulsif bozukluk tedavisinde serotonin geri al›m inhibitörleri aras›nda en çok veri taban› oland›r. Serotonin gerial›m inhibitörleri obsesif kompulsif bozukluk birinci aflama tedavisinde yer al›rlar. Ço¤u obsesif kompulsif spektrum bozukluklar› tedavisinde de etkinlikleri bilinmektedir. Fluvoksamin’in hem obsesif kompulsif bozukluk ve hem de obsesif spektrum bozukluklar›nda etkinli¤i birçok çal›flmada gösterilmifltir. Bu yaz›da OKB hastas›na yaklafl›m, do¤ru tan› koyma ve tedavi ilkeleri ile fluvoksamin’in OKB ve Obsesif spektrum bozukluklar› tedavisinde ki rolü gözden geçirilmifltir.
